If you’re unhappy with a certain aspect of your facial features, it can. Changes in your appearance are very common as the signs of ageing start to show. But what’s the solution? After all, cosmetic surgery may seem scary or expensive and may not be a route you want to go down.
At Love Teeth, we know that there’s more to giving a confidence boost than perfecting a beautiful smile. This is why we offer a range of non-invasive facial aesthetic treatments that will enhance your natural appearance and boost your self-esteem.
In this guide, we’ll talk you through facial aesthetics and give you a brief overview of the treatments we provide.
What Is Facial Aesthetics?
Facial aesthetics is a specialist area that includes a variety of non-surgical procedures such as dermal fillers, anti-wrinkle injections, and skin treatments. All of these are designed to reduce the visible signs of ageing by improving the natural contours and features of your face.
Great facial aesthetics use a combination of advanced technology with creative clinical techniques in a minimally invasive way, all with the least possible amount of downtime and recovery time.
As with all of our dental procedures, your facial aesthetics treatment will be carried out to the highest of standards in a sterile clinic using techniques that we’ve refined and perfected following all of the necessary training. Drawing from a deep knowledge of facial anatomy, this type of treatment is equal parts science and art.
What Are Dermal Fillers?
As we age, our skin loses its elasticity. This is largely unavoidable, and it’s the reason we develop wrinkles or that our skin starts to sag as we get older.
In the past, the only option for improving the appearance of your skin would be to get surgery. Thankfully, times have changed, and dermal fillers can be used to restore your skin’s elasticity and plumpness, all without a single incision.
Dermal fillers use a natural substance called hyaluronic acid. As long as you get the treatment done by a qualified practitioner, it’s perfectly safe.
We’ll start the process by identifying the areas of your face that you’d like to change. Everyone has their insecurities about their appearance, and we’d like to know what’s most important to you.
Dermal fillers can help by:
- Smoothing out the lines around your nose and mouth (marionette lines and smile lines)
- Plumping up your cheeks when they have become sunken
- Smoothing out creases in your chin
- Reducing the appearance of sagging joints
- Rejuvenating tired eyes
Once we know which areas we’re treating, we’ll numb and gently massage the injection site. Next, we’ll inject the dermal fillers. The entire process is relatively short and painless.
Once we’re done, you won’t experience any downtime, and you’ll be able to go about your day as normal, though we’d recommend avoiding playing sports or drinking alcohol.
Dermal fillers provide effective and natural-looking results. To maintain your new rejuvenated appearance, you’ll need top-up treatments at a later date.
What Are Anti-Wrinkle Injections?
A well-worn face may give the appearance of wisdom, but if the visible signs of ageing are not for you, you may want to consider anti-wrinkle injections.
We use Allergan’s botulinum anti-wrinkle injections. Often called ‘Anti-wrinkle’, this is the world’s top anti-ageing treatment. This is a quick and simple procedure that’s both highly effective and non-invasive.
Anti-wrinkle injections can treat:
- Forehead wrinkles
- Crows feet around your eyes
- Frown lines
- Smokers lines
- Lines on the neck
We can treat multiple areas of your face during your treatment. It can also be used in other parts of your body and can even help with excessive armpit sweating.
Just like with dermal fillers, there is little to no downtime associated with the anti-wrinkle injections. In much the same way as with the dermal filler treatment, you’ll receive injections around the areas. This injection will help to relax the muscles in the treatment area. Doing so will smooth the skin. The entire process can be done in as little as 15 minutes, depending on the extent of the treatment.
After your treatment, it may take a few days for the effects to show. After around two weeks, your friends and family will notice your new youthful appearance.
What Is a Chemical Peel?
It’s not just wrinkles that can be a problem. Scars, acne, uneven skin tone, dryness, and discolouration can all have an impact on your complexion.
In addition to offering anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers, we’re able to help you achieve a clearer, brighter complexion using a chemical peel treatment. The process involves applying a chemical solution to your skin that will remove the top layers. Once the top layers of your skin have been removed, they’ll grow back smoother.
In all, the treatment is quite short and can be completed in just 20 minutes. Once the peel is applied, you may have a mild stinging or burning sensation; however, the chemical peel treatment is painless.
Following your treatment, you may experience some temporary sensitivity in your skin. It’s best to avoid exposure to the sun and use cleanser and moisturiser. Recovery usually takes between one and two weeks.
At Love Teeth, we use Enerpeel. This gentle but effective treatment promotes collagen production. Surface redness is reduced while peeling is increased with Enerpeel. A procedure using Enerpeel is completely safe when it is carried out by a trained professional.
