Yes, Dental Implants Are An Option!

Losing a tooth has several unfortunate consequences. Depending on its position, it can knock your confidence leaving you self-conscious about smiling. But it doesn’t just affect your looks. It can put you at increased risk of gum disease or tooth decay. Over time, neighbouring teeth can shift and slide into the new gap, causing misalignment elsewhere.

Under the surface of your gums, other problems may be brewing. Your jaw will deteriorate without having the root of a tooth anchored to it. This impacts your facial structure, making you look old before your time.

Dental implants prevent this bone loss while restoring the look and function of your teeth. In some cases, if bone loss has already occurred, there’s not enough density to sustain an implant.

If you’ve been told that you can’t have a traditional dental implant, you may think your options are limited. The great news is that they’re not! With Zygomatic implants at Love Teeth, we can get around the problem of insufficient bone mass and give you the new smile you deserve.

How Do
Zygomatic Dental Implants Work?

As with standard implants, we’ll use titanium posts to replace the root structure of your upper teeth. However, where standard implants are placed vertically into the bone, we’ll use longer rods to take advantage of the zygomatic arch.

By positioning longer implants at an angle toward your cheekbone, we’ll gain access to an area of undiminished bone volume. This alternative technique gives support and anchorage to bridgework where normal implants would fail.

The other alternative to zygomatic implants is a sinus lift or bone graft procedure. These are both great ways to replenish lost bone density, but the healing process required before implant placement is long. We can place zygomatic implants straight away.

Absolutely fantastic dentist! As a very nervous patient that suffers badly with anxiety due to health problems I have stayed away from dentists for years, Megna is very calming and professional she has made me feel very relaxed, confident and comfortable about having work done, always checking to see if I’m ok whilst working and always telling me what she is doing. I am no longer nervous and am very happy with the work that’s been done. I would 100% recommend Megna and Love teeth Chessington , the reception staff are always very kind and helpful too! I am very grateful to them all. The whole experience has been brilliant. Thank you

The dentist at Love Teeth was very kind and warming and my daughter did not feel nervous at all. I am so grateful they managed to do the extraction with ease. The waiting room for children is also brilliant, with seasonal things to do (colouring, books, ipad, projector with a film on). We would most definitely come back and will now be looking at a membership for my daughter.

The Zygomatic Implant Procedure

Before placing your implants, we’ll perform a CT scan and assess your teeth. This information lets us identify the exact position and angle to ensure perfect placement.

We’ll give you an anaesthetic so you don’t feel anything during the procedure. The exact number of implants we’ll place will depend on your specific circumstances, but we’ll often use two zygomatic implants with up to four standard implants.

After placement, we’ll put in a temporary restoration that will let you eat, smile, and speak while our technicians make your permanent teeth. If you like the temporary placements, just wait and see what our team can do! Once the permanent restorations are ready, we’ll place them.

Why Choose Zygomatic Implants?

Zygomatic implants give your teeth fantastic rigidity and support. This truly life-changing procedure will allow you to enjoy all your favourite meals again and smile with renewed confidence.

Bone resorption is a real problem. Without an implant, your bone will slowly deteriorate, reducing the support of even the best-fitting dentures. The presence of the implant will help stimulate bone growth in your jaw and keep your facial features from collapsing.

Frequently asked questions about Zygomatic implants in Surrey

What are Zygomatic Implants?

Zygomatic implants are extra-long titanium posts anchored in the cheekbone (zygomatic bone) rather than the upper jaw. This makes them ideal for patients with severe jawbone loss.

When are they used instead of traditional implants?

They’re the go-to when there isn’t enough upper jaw bone for regular implants, or when you’re trying to avoid bone grafting or sinus lift procedures.

Who’s an ideal candidate for Zygomatic Implants?

This treatment is best suited for people with advanced upper jaw bone loss or those denied traditional implant options. It’s a life-changing alternative when dentures or grafts aren’t viable.

How do I care for Zygomatic implants? How do I care for them long-term?

Just like you would with natural teeth, with daily brushing, flossing, and regular dental check-ups. Consistent oral hygiene ensures they look and perform their best for years.
