For Brighter,
Refreshed Skin

Vitality matters. If you’ve got a healthy glow, it goes a long way to give you a youthful complexion. But ageing can be hard on your skin, leaving it looking dull.

The dulling of skin is caused by reduced collagen production as you age. Other causes include dehydration, free radicals, pollution, and a build-up of dead cells.

Unfortunately, the natural reduction in collagen makes repairing damaged skin harder as we age, and keeping yourself looking fresh and young requires more than your usual beauty routine.

Using chemical peels, we can brighten and refresh your skin, giving you back your healthy, youthful glow and making you feel beautiful and confident again.

My HydraFacial at Love Skin was brilliant. The clinic has such a professional vibe, and the team were so friendly and accommodating. My skin felt super clean, smooth, and hydrated afterwards. I dropped one star only because I wish the effects lasted longer – but honestly, I’ll be back for another soon!

Came in for a consultation with Michal regarding composite bonding – all staff were super friendly and welcoming. Michal was hilarious and really put me at ease, he answered all my questions and gave me honest, informative options which was then given to me as a print out. Really appreciated the environment and will definitely be going ahead with my treatment with these guys!

Really want to say a massive thank you to Tracey at reception who went above and beyond to be able to get me an appointment before I moved! Kept me in the loop and moved schedules around so I could be seen. I’m so grateful for her help – she’s a shining example of amazing customer service. Also big shout out to Dr Sheena and her assistant in training (didn’t catch her name unfortunately) who performed my first root canal yesterday. Both were so gentle and kind and ensured I was ok throughout the procedure. Thank you so much.

The Different Types
of Chemical Peel

Chemical peels are an effective way to revitalise your appearance. There are several different types of treatment suitable for a range of needs.

Medium Chemical Peel

With a medium chemical peel, your skin will appear noticeably fresher and smoother. This treatment can benefit you if you have uneven skin colour, acne scars, or deep wrinkles.

The chemicals we’ll use will remove cells from the epidermis (the outermost layer of skin) and the dermis (the middle layer).

Medium-Deep
Chemical Peel

Medium-deep chemical peels can significantly reduce the signs of ageing or scarring. Using the Enerpeel® system, we’ll carry out a deep medical-grade treatment without the need for downtime.

Superficial
Chemical Peel

With a superficial chemical peel, the results are immediate and subtle. With repeated treatments, it’s possible to achieve an increased healthy glow.

This light chemical peel is ideal for acne, fine wrinkles, dryness, or uneven pigment. The peel will remove just the epidermis (the outermost layer of skin) using light exfoliation. This treatment uses a combination of milder alpha-hydroxy and beta-hydroxy acids, including glycolic acid, lactic acid, salicylic acid, and maleic acid.

For a superficial chemical peel, we’ll use leading brands such as Enerpeel®.

Frequently asked questions

What Is a Chemical Peel?

A chemical peel procedure improves the appearance of your skin by applying controlled quantities of chemicals. Chemical peels work to remove dead skin and promote new cell growth giving you a fresh and revitalised complexion.

A chemical peel resurfaces your skin using various types of acid. Our clinicians can use it to improve issues such as hyperpigmentation, deal with impurities, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

How Do Chemical Peels Work?

Ordinarily, your skin has a pH of roughly 5.5. However, acids within the chemical peel will raise your skin’s pH to around 3.8. By altering your pH levels, the cells that stick dead skin to healthy skin will be loosened. This serves to exfoliate the dead skin and promote healthy skin growth.

When applied to your skin, the chemical peel solution increases the turnover of skin cells. This occurs through a process of damage, inflammation, and repair. At the inflammation stage, your skin may become red, and you may experience peeling.

Once peeled, the top layer of skin (called the epidermis) will thicken, collagen will be deposited, and the structure of the dermis ( below the epidermis) will be reorganised and will also become thicker. All of these changes will give the skin a radiant and even appearance.

How Many Chemical Peel Treatments Will I Need?

Depending on which peel we use, your treatment will be done in stages across a few weeks. During your initial consultation, we’ll let you know how many peels you’ll need and how often they’ll be carried out.

What Type of Chemical Peel Is Best for My Skin?

There are various options when it comes to chemical peels, but we’ll always ensure we recommend the best type that suits your skin and the goals you’d like to achieve. Then, through a thorough skin consultation, we’ll determine which peel will work best for you.

We can also discuss managing specific skin concerns such as acne and rosacea during this appointment.

How Long Does a Chemical Peel Take?

The exact length of your treatment will depend on its extent and the type of peel used. Typically, these chemical peels can take between 20 minutes and an hour.

Do Chemical Peels Hurt?

The type of chemical peel treatment you’re undergoing will determine how it feels. Usually, you’ll experience a brief warm tingling sensation on your skin. For deeper peels, you’ll experience more heat.

What Is the Recovery Time for Chemical Peel Treatment?

As a non-surgical and minimally-invasive aesthetic treatment, there is no downtime after a chemical peel procedure.

For the first 24 hours following your chemical peel treatment, your skin may feel tight and appear redder than usual. Over the next few days, you should expect to experience some light skin peeling.

What Aftercare Do I Need Following a Chemical Peel?

While there isn’t any downtime associated with chemical peels, you should avoid any physical activity until the following day. Similarly, you shouldn’t use any heat treatments or apply makeup immediately after treatment.

You should avoid using all exfoliating products for one week after your chemical peel. After treatment, we also recommend applying a physical SPF daily to protect your skin.

Is Chemical Peel Treatment Right for Me?

Chemical peels are an incredibly effective way of refreshing and revitalising your skin. They are also beneficial for dealing with a range of skin problems, such as acne, uneven skin, dryness, fine lines, and wrinkles.

The treatment is straightforward and perfectly safe when carried out by our highly-skilled and professional team. We’ll ensure that the right chemical peel is used to meet your specific needs.

There is also no downtime associated with the minimally-invasive, non-surgical procedure.
